Guess What??!!

Today I got to meet Chantilly! She stayed here for about an hour today. WOW! Was she a lot of fun. She was very lovable too. My foster mom cuddled her while she was here. I wasn't sure what to make of that, but then I found out their was room for me too. I loved it. Chantilly let me rest my head on her.

She was afraid when she came into the backyard, but I did get her to play with me. I heard she may have a possible adopter, but check out her page.

Two weeks ago my foster mom met Jack too, he is up for adoption. He run up to her and let her pet him, he wagged his tail the entire time.

When my foster mom came home today she smelled like another dog! How dare she! I found out she helped Queenie move today. She is very afraid, but very sweet. She loves kids. Check her out too: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=10494876

Check back soon! Remember if you adopt one of the dogs above or any other in the rescue it opens a spot for another to get saved!

Or if you would like to foster fill out the foster application. I'm told the rescue has a bunch of new foster homes the past few months and it has helped save more dogs! http://www.illinoisbirddogrescue.org/foster_app.html

I'm Such A Smart Girl!

That is what my foster mom tells me! I know my name and come running when my foster mom say Victoria. I sit and wait for my food and treats. When I am told no I stop what I am doing.

I feel much better now that these pesky worms are going away. I'm having a blast playing with the dogs here. And that big Weim I was so afraid of, well not anymore! He is so much fun. Actually all the dogs that live here are fun.

I'm getting pretty good at this house training too. I have been making it through the night too! My foster mom is very happy about that.

I still do well in my crate. But I like to be able to see another dog when I'm in my crate.

I'm very cuddly. I love to be held as you can see from my picture. The man in the picture is friends with the man that found. He told him to call my foster mom.
Time to get back to chewing on my Nyla Bone. I love these things!

At the Vet

Today I went to the doctor. She was very nice. Everyone there really liked me! I think everyone showed up just so they could pet me!

I was weighed; I'm at 22.4 lbs. The dr. said all my big girl teeth are in. I look very healthy. I let her trim my nails, foster mom called it a pedicure. I did get a shot, but I was brave. They gave me treats as I was getting the shot, so I didn't notice.
I would probably do better in a home without a cat. At first I jumped back when it hissed at me, but then when it began to walk away I got into the stalking position. When the cat turned and hissed at me again I didn't back down.

When we left she made an appt for my spay and micro-chip too. I don't know what that is all about, but that will be in about 3 wks. Foster mom said ALL IBR dogs come spayed or neutered and its a good thing! As long as its a good thing I'm on board with it!

Oh and it was decided I will NOT go to a hunting home, but I'll be a great family pet. I'm learning all the rules here and doing really well. Their is this funny little ritual here, if I sit I get a treat, if I go outside and potty I get a treat. I like all these treats.

So that is my update the dr. said I will be ready and spayed in 3 wks and then I can go to my fur-ever home! If you want to meet me or talk about me put my name on your application. You can meet and talk about as many dogs as you want so you can include others on your application too!

My first night...

I did not make a peep in my crate all night. I went out this morning like a good little puppy.

I have a funny little quirk. When I am eating out of my food bowl I like to walk around in circles! It takes me a little while to finish all my food. I'm very slow when I eat.

I am enjoying playing with the other dogs. I am very respectful. One of the girls here put me in my place and I submitted to her.

My foster mom asked her friend to send over her 6 year old son to see how I would do with him. I did great! I licked his face and showed him my belly, I like to have it scratched.

I took my medicine like a good girl today. I am enjoying the good food and treats here too!

Check back soon!

My Story

My name is Victoria Natasha I am named after Victoria Woodhull. She was a very strong woman and my foster mom says so am I, and Natasha after a book on Russia my foster mom was reading.

This is my story...

A friend of my foster mom went to meet my sister. When he got there he saw my sister and I were in a tiny crate in our own urine and feces. He decided to take me with him too.

So he called my foster mom last night and asked if she could help.

My foster mom, who was taking a fostering break, said I could come stay with her until I find a home of my own.

So far she knows I am about 5 months old and to skinny; only 18 lbs. My paws are not very big, I might be close to 25-30lbs. Usually GSP's are much bigger, while in the crate I was not getting very much food, my sister was eating it and I have a little worm problem, but I'm on medicine and will be as good as new in no time!

I am very sweet and love people. I like other dogs too, I just roll over on my back when they want to play. I'm not so sure about the Weim here! He is big, I just tucked my tail and hid by my foster mom.

I will need a safe fenced in yard. I have not been cat tested, but can be. I'm so friendly if anything I would probably try to play with them. I am great with kids 11 and over, but I'm sure I would be great with kids of all ages. My foster mom can test that too.

Check back soon for more updates and pictures. Also check out the other IBR dogs too. When you adopt one it makes room for another to come in. The rescue is getting bombarded daily with dogs that need help. IBR is not anti-hunting many IBR dogs do hunt, but many that come in have been dumped by hunters as they have been deemed "bad hunting dogs" *

Shy kisses,

Tori

*Hunters need not apply at this time.
